This is the border between Spain and Morocco at Ceuta (together with Melilla, the only borders of Schengen treaty at Africa).

A 6m fence, lane security (where policemen are walking), a 3m fence and later a road close to it to help a quick approach to any point of the border.

And... there are still people who jumps it and there is smuggling. People send packs throwing over the fence.

And another pic of Mexico/Belize borderline (Hondo River) You can see the contrasting between both countries; credits to Hotu Matua for the pic.

I surf on the web with google chrome. Translations are activated but if text is in English I prefer to cancel it and read in English (better translations and... I learn sometimes new words).

But some cases I am so fast that I do not cancel translations.
I had to read twice to notice the topic about photo description language...

I don't know if this have ever been posted: here's the USA - Mexico border next to Tijuana seen from the US side.

I think that is an extremely good picture!

I suppose it's not illegal to chat with the your neigbour through that fence. What about physical contact? Can a Mexican move his hand through that fence over to the US to shake another hand? Or at least his finger tips... Or his tongue for a passionate international kiss..?

Many Mexican families living in the United Sates spend time with relatives at Borderfield State Park on weekends and holidays
to avoid long lines at the border and for immigration reasons.

Why US-CND border appears on Google Earth as a treeless straight line between forest?
And between Vermont and Quèbec there is a street whose one side is in a country and the other is another. How it's possible since there is no free-transit allowed between these 2 countries? Is allowed only here?

It's not allowed, thats why theres a Canadian sign there telling people to turn around, also there is a street in that area in which the border is in the middle of the road, and there are controls at each end of that road and people that live there have to go through them every time they leave they're own street. Untill last year passports weren't required to go from Canada to the US or vice-versa but they now are.

In some places the US-Canadian border is indeed a treeless straight line

Theres a park near Vancouver that you can see on google street view where the border is a ditch, here:

The actual border is 500m from here:

It isn't allowed to continue further south, as a polite border guard told us.
Maybe someone knows when this border crossing stopped working?
did somebody reply to this thread ?
I plan to travel in the region and would like to pass the border there; Is it open for traffic ?

Once I specifically drove on that road after crossing into Canada via Pacific Hwy POE. According to the CBP, the border has hidden surveillance cameras and infra-red sensors, but I did not see any of them. By the way, it is easy to see that the road is in Canada because it has a single solid yellow line. In the USA, it would be a double solid line.

What do the border guards there do, let's say, if the kids in that neighbourhood in Canada decide to play a pickup soccer game in that park, across the street in the USA? I can see no real way of effectively preventing the neighbors from at least using that park.

Also, a bit to the east of that specific location, there is a Canadian speed limit sign.

I highly doubt that the border guards would be bothered by that, infact further down you cans see this sign

http://maps.google.co.uk/?ll=49.0021...104.53,,1,4.57

http://maps.google.co.uk/?ll=49.0021...221.42,,0,9.63

This sign certainly gives the impression that they allow people into the Peace Arch Park from there:
