Not in Italy. We simply call them "prof". I don't even know first names of my former teachers.

In Portugal, 'vos' (very formal, no one actually uses it any more, apart from in prayer) is used for God/Jesus etc.

In the UK teachers are gradually becoming known by their first names, very gradually though.

The new road signs have been installed ahead of the Franco-Brazilian border.

Unfortunately, the picture quality is very low, which is a pity for the interesting vids.

What does it look like upon entry into France there? Is there a French sign with the EU stars?

We don't really know. The only sign we've seen so far is this one, but it's at the entrance of the French road network after the border. I don't know whether there's a 'France' sign with the EU stars on the border proper.

And this is the sign on the Brazilian side of the border in Oiapoque.

I wonder if 'AIDS' is always used in Brazil instead of 'SIDA'.

I doubt it whether the European Union Signs will be added as this part of France is not part of the European Union, in the same way as I cannot remember seeing any EU stars when I visited Reunion or Mayotte.

For me as a South African visiting French Overseas territories I need a French Visa as my Schengen visa (multiple valid for 5 years issued by the French Consulate) is not accepted.

You are wrong, it is part of the EU, only French Polinesia and Tahiti are not, maybe also some islands. But French Guyana, Martinique, Guadeloupe and La Reunion are part of the EU.

That's because the overseas departments are not part of the Schegen Area, but they are part of the EU. It's like the UK which is part of the EU, but not part of the Schengen Area.

If your car breaks down, you couldn't even park off the road because it would be a border crossing violation On both sides, there were houses less than 30 metres from the border.
Any American citizen or Canadian citizen can apply for a NEXUS card which allows them to drive through designated lanes at border crossings without stopping. NEXUS card holders don't have to deal with customs in airports either.

No, because they have to deal with customs, not with immigration.

I looked into getting Nexus but don't want to pay the $50 fee. nor do I cross the border at all since I moved further away from it. I just wish they would have non stop border crossings period, for everyone. Waiting 45 min to an hour to get back into the U.S. is a pain and the shitty attitudes of the U.S. border agents is unecessary and annoying. Most agents seem to be brain dead enough to get a job scraping barnacles off the bottom of ships sans oxygen tank. They wouldn't be missed.
