Is there still the issue on the border, when you want to leave Kosovo?
I skip Kosovo this summer cause Polish Foreign Affairs said - 'we cannot guarantee safe and easy border crossing on way back from Kosovo to Serbia'.
Secondly my car insurance is valid in all European countries accept Kosovo...

Yes, because probably Albanians don't know Cyrillic or barely speak Serbian language.
On the other hand, foreigners can't get into Serbia from Kosovo, because they don't have valid Serbian passport stamp (Serbia do not consider border with Kosovo as regular international border). Solution is to get Serbia via Montenegro or Macedonia. After that Serbian border official usually cancel Kosovo passport stamp with "ПОНИШТЕНО-ANNULÉ".

I though it was possible to enter SRB with ID only.

So can Kosovan citizens enter at Serbia via other country or just as soon as they would show their passport they would be refused?

I have explored on the internet about this problem, and I have found several blogs of travelers who experienced this. For example:

http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/border_drama

http://www.theworld.org/2012/07/koso...-in-purgatory/

http://egypt-dialogue.blogspot.com/2...from-here.html

I hope this helped a lot to understand this weird situation...

Yea, indeed. I've met many US ppl in Montenegro this summer and they were always asking, "why don't head Kosovo if u have a car". I read some info before I went to Balkans and it was advisable to keep away from SRB/KOS border, so I've done that. To avoid any complication during my holidays.
One thing more; on HRV/MNE or MNE/SRB and SRB/HUN border Polish passport makes crossing so easy and so friendly Yeaaa, perhaps Slavic countries union in the mentality :P

Let me explain a few things now. All foreign nationals with Kosovo stamps will be able to enter Serbia from Kosovo. Kospvo citizens can now enter Serbia with Kosovar ID cards... KS licence plates are also allowdd, if you have RKS plates the Serbian border control give you a temporary license plate on top of your existing plates. All the hasstle that existed from 2008 has now been relaxed thanks to the talks agreements in Brussels. Kosovo and Serbia are now rebuilding all border centres to accomodate both Serbian and Albanian in one place where each customs service only controls their inbound traffic.

As for the use of Latin Serbian.... the official language in Kosovo is latin Serbian. All road signs and place names are written in Latin Serbian. This is because all other ethnic groups living in Kosovo use the latin based writing in their own language. To me cyrillic is like Chinese, I can not recognise the letters.

Interesting, since every person > 35 from former YU has learned cyrillic, so it´s nice to see that you are still so young

I can read and write Serbian cyrillic.

Thats not true, most Albanians in Kosovo cannot understand cyrilic, I would say about 80%. I personally grew up in a 100% Albanian neighbourhood. Serbian to me is totally foreign.

As far as I know everyone had to learn Serbocroatian since that was the 'connecting' language in ex-YU. I have seen a lot of reports from RKS on TV where mostley elderly people, spoke Serbian, although with an accent. I have also met Kosovar people speaking Serbian.

I went to a Yugoslav school in NL, where they only taught Serbocroatian (and cyrillic ), unfortunately no basic knowledge of the other languages (like Albanian)

Back ontopic: I suppose that RKS border police speaks Serbia if needed.
