It is in Central Asia, so it is a non-European country.

I just said it because it is a former USSR country.

Apart of Russia, Is it the only country in Asia?

There are two types of former USSR republics.

Those located south of Russia, and those situated west of Russia.
The ones in the West, are considered European countries. Those which are South of Russia, are Asian countries.

By definition of Europe, Kazakstan is a transcontinental country, part in Europe, part in Asia. It is not in "central Asia".

And here is the map, by Wikipedia, and we can see what Skyline says.

Kazakhstan is so big that lies in both Europe and Asia.

There are customs booths and checks at both sides of bridge, but not right next to the entrance-exit. The Tancredo Neves it's the border crossing located close to the Iguazu Falls: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=-25.58...num=1&t=h&z=16

There are, however, some cities south of there on which one part belongs to Argentina and the other to Brazil. At that areas there are officlal customs booths but it's also possible to simply walk into the other country or even drive... ie: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=-26.25...num=1&t=h&z=17

Which means that when locals want to go further inland at any side, they're subjected to customs and immigration checks?

No, it's not like that; as there are official border crossings inside the cities, unlike some border areas of Uruguay-Brazil that work the way you mention.

It's just that if you choose to not go the legal way and police stops you inside the country or you have a crash then you might have a problem (i.e your insurance company won't pay you) or be forced to pay a fine when exiting the country through a legal border crossing...

Maybe someone that lives on that area can give more details about daily living. I just have been there a couple of times years ago.

I understand if most africans and people from the middle east and central asia need a visa to Brazil, but why do americans and canadians need one if it's visa free for europeans and russians?

Wow about the African pictures.

What about those pictures with a robe instead of a barrier or a fence?

Was it the only signal to no trepassing?
