That road was planned before Poland and Czech Republic joined the Schengen area. So two border crossing points were planned originally but weren't built since both countries entered Schengen before the road was finished. That's not really the point

Where is this exactly? Has there been build a railway bypass as well?

Yes, you're right. Mexicans need visa for entering to the US, but need nothing when they're going back to Mexico. Americans dont need visa for entering Mexico, actually they need nothing if they're just visiting the border cities, they need passport when they're getting back to the US.

As of March 1, 2010, all U.S. citizens – including children -- must present a valid passport, book or card, for travel beyond the “border zone” into the interior of Mexico. Entry by any means, for example by plane or car, is included in this requirement. The “border zone” is generally defined as an area between 20 to 30 kilometers of the border with the U.S., depending on the location. Stays of less than 72 hours within the border zone do not require a visa or tourist card.

U.S. citizens traveling as tourists beyond the border zone or entering Mexico by air must pay a fee to obtain a tourist card, also known as an FM-T, available from Mexican border crossing points, Mexican tourism offices, airports within the border zone and most airlines serving Mexico.

It is manned. When I was there last year there were Italian and Swiss frontier agents in the booths.

The runway is on a disputed territory effectively controlled by gbz. That's why they are /were building a binational terminal.

I can't understand it: both Denmark and Sweden are EU members and members of the Schengen treaty so that there should be neither customs nor passport check.

@Skyline Yes we are in, but we still have border patrol/customs.
They do many things still like weigh trucks, looking for drugs, criminals or animals( like dogs) and legally bought alcohol if it more then the quota.
If you come with ferry they will also use the breathalyzer on you etc.

It is not passport check, but payment for crossing the bridge
