It was built before Schengen, so there is a physical border station, which explains the third lane as a queuing lane for trucks. It opened in November 2006.

This isn't a S69, but national road DK69. S69 starts about 1-2 km away.

I have no idea why there are 3 lanes
If it is just a national road, I think it is the widest national road I've ever seen... It looks like a motorway.

Thanks . I've written 2,000 but I thought it would be too barefaced why I've modified it to 5,000 .

Shoulder width standard on polish expressways is 2,5m, on motorways 3m. The width of main lanes (3,5m vs. 3,75m) and shoulders is the biggest difference between this 2 kinds of roads in PL.

Yeah, it's international.
There were other cars that crossed the border, saw some coming from the opposite direction. But only one at the crossing when I got there.

Today I crossed from MNE to AL at Božaj, I had to wait more then 30 minutes. Only one checkpoint at MNE side, AL had two.

Actually the biggest US embassy (fortress) in Europe is in Skopje. Its so big that its impossible to say that its just an embassy. Its often said that CIA's central headquarters for this part of the world are actually there. They were in fact moved from Athens up to Skopje. When there were workings going on, workers were imported from outside just to keep quite about the project. Its said that it has 5 basement floors. The place is in a very central Skopje on a hill near the Kale fortress.
When measuring it on Google Earth the area is more than 50.000 sq meters.

Here аre some pictures.

If not you should start one rather than continue OT discussions here.

Bogdymol - thank you so much for the pictures! I don't think Hungary has any intention at all of dismantling the old border stations.

With the border at Zwardon, was there ever a border crossing there? I haven't seen any pictures or any evidence of it...

(Edit : my mistake, I know the border in question. I'm still surprised they built such an over-engineered border crossing after EU entry! Something similar to what they "built" at Chalpuki would have done the job - a few portcabins and a portable weight scale!)

Yes, well.

I do, however, find it utterly ridiculous for Europeans of all people to throw around the word "imperialist."

It is another proof that somebody who designed this border crossing did not think because almost 10 years have passed and trucks are still not allowed there

Especially where Spain & Gibraltar are concerned.

I also love the irony of South American countries banging on about imperialism when talking about the Falklands.

Almost everything has been said. Just add some oil by means of metric vs. imperial system or let's bring the obesity in North America topic up and we'll have everything
