I will continue in this off-topic.

Border crossing between Ukraine and Donetsk oblast (Donetsk people's republic). I just wonder over the number of wheels that has appeared all over the place since the break out of the conflict.

They should be torn down completely, since they can be passed freely anyway. Borders have been overcome, and despite the fact that some extreme right-wing idiots want to go backwards, freedom will always prevail.

I've searched second picture

It is here

https://www.google.es/maps/@42.43486...rjd5wBk8hw!2e0

It is not an often used border pass because most traffic crosses via tolled motorway. It is the nearest to the coast (in fact you will see the sea from there moving the mouse in the picture)

The road in Spain starting there crosses all the Pyrenees near the border (N-260)

By the way, booths are full in France, not in the exact border

How exactly do they bother you? We're far from a common European nation (if it will ever exist), so I suggest keeping them, if we'll need them again. We've witnessed many new border checkpoints in the last time (Kosovo-Serbia, the rest of ex-Yugoslavia, Czech Republic-Slovakia, ex-USSR).

I have a different opinion!!

They should be preserved and restore (for example for a tourism use) because it is a reminder for people of a liberty that was gain and also a reminder of what the people has to protect and defend for the next generations!!

I agree, but I am even maybe better with just leaving as it is and letting them rot into the ground and collapse in 100 years, it just seems so much more... "dead"

If we could just do something about "the world's longest undefended border" now....

As I remember, Spain/France never really bothered with having separate controls in most places, they just built one facility. As far as I can tell, it was more or less the norm in many European border crossings to have a joint facility. I can't be absolutely certain, but I think even the PL/DDR border crossings were a single facility. It's funny how we moved away from such an approach, yet now it's being promoted as 'best practice'.

In the Bielsa tunnel (maybe last border built before Schengen), booth facilities are quite separated. But it is easy to understand just glancing location

Would you like to go back to the situation in your country in the 90's? Talking about backward...
