I'm not very sure but I believe this is one of the less visible border crossings in Europe.
Surroundings: České Petrovice (CZ) / Kamieńczyk (PL)
Neither on the Czech nor on the Polish side, any village from across the border is signed. 7 years after the borders opened, this fact is a bit strange ... but it's not the only place !

Why they don't remove the "TITO" sign in big red letters?

Is that current? I mean, is the "Tito" still there?

Yes these are photos from a few days ago. I have no idea why they didn't remove it, but there were less than 5 statues of Tito throughout Yugoslavia afaik, so I guess no one is bothered with this that much, no one was irked and waiting for the day they could remove it.

But I agree it should be removed, no artistic value whatsoever, just some cheap concrete propaganda. On the other hand, one of those rare Tito statues, in Uzice, by Augustincic was removed http://www.titoville.com/images/tito-kip-krsinic.jpg

There is a "POZOR! Statni hranice" sign, also there are border stones.

They didn't take it down as they think it reads "OTIT"

They should have defaced that commemorative sign on the dam crest as well.

For that matter, it's interesting they used the Latin alphabet. (And that bilingual sign on the bridge uses the Latin alphabet for the Serbian...but they still transliterated Ceausescu.)

AND here comes Grumpy to yell at us about talking languages again.

I didn't look that closely. The Serbianized Ceausescu jumped out at me.

(Ceausescu jumping out at one: the stuff of nightmares, that.)

That's how Serbs write, as they speak, including names. You live in Filadelfija (Junajtid stejts of Amerika ).

Wouldn't Cyrillic be more usual?

And transliterating a person's name...I've never seen that from one Latin-alphabet language to another.
