It was long time ago but I remember that mostly italian custom officers were bothering than police id control. Austrians usually were ok. They had a joint control at Tarvisio boder crossing, while on Brennero the borders were 2, separated by the tunnel.

I crossed Brennero pass in 1993 and there was passport control in both countries. There was congestion and all cars were requested to stop engines when stopped in the middle of the tunnel.

There wasn't strong controls but they asked everyone their passport. I remember to have stamps from there.
The problem wasn't strong controls as said but many traffic and each car was stopped just to check they had legal documentation to entry in each country.

Not really, it just happens. I'm just an hiking enthusiast, doing that mainly on borders.

Montenegro/Bosnia & Herzegovina, Sitnica/Zupci

I do not know the correct name of this border crossing, anyway, it kind of works as an alternative crossing to the one in Debeli Brijeg/Karasovici between Montenegro and Croatia. I intended to go through Croatia on the way back from Crna Gora, but because of horrible queue on the mentioned crossing I had changed my mind and used the one below, located on the road from Herceg Novi to Trebinje.

The road towards border crossing is toll road and cost 3 euros.

Montenegrin custom booths. Officers just waved and did not bother to check documents.

It took more than 2 hours to get to the Bosnian part of the border.

Bosnian/Serbian (?) custom officer was particularly interested in green card, passports did not seem to be important for him.

I didn't know that people from Poland actually drive to Montenegro. How many hours do you need for such trip?

There is more Polish registered cars in Montengro than you would have expected It took me 2 days to get to Tivat (I ma rather slow driver) with a stopover in Szeged, Hungary. Zabrze - Szeged took about 10 hours, including driving on horribly congested M1 and M0 (Friday) And 14 hrs from Szeged through Senta (Tiszasziget-Djala border crossing), Beograd, Cacak and Podgorica. Return journey through Trebinje, Sarajevo (night stopover), Brod and Udvar was additionallly interrupted by waiting time on borders, approximately 5-6 hrs altogether.

Me neither, it's a Google Picasa thing. They will randomly show or not show to users. I can't believe Google hasn't fixed this problem, it has plagued internet forums for years now.

Yes, Picasa doesn't allow hotlinking. It's piotr71's fault for using a service in a way that isn't supposed to be used.

[SRB][MNE] Dobrakovo/Bijelo Polje

Serbian side.

Serbian booths in the background.

This report isn't complete, I am afraid, because of the lack of the Montenegrin customs, which weren't possible to capture this time.

Entering most famous national park of Montenegro.

In the very deep background a roof of the Montenegrin booths can be seen.

I am adding a link to the album for all, who would wish to see the pictures but for any reason couldn't do so. I have also added similar links to the previous posts of mine.

Here's a Schengen border between Poland and Germany on the Usedom island. It's great that due to Schengen, both sides of the island have been so connected and there is now a nice tourist tract to cross into both sides.

Approaching from the German side:

Still amazing to think that on Usedom/Uznam, the D/PL border was secured with a barbed wire fence up until 2007.

[BiH][HR] Brod/Slavonski Brod

Bosnian customs in front of us. Obviously, it is not legal to photograph this border, therefore the report will be limited.

Here is the bridge over the river Sava connecting both Brod towns.

Croatian part of the border.
