I have an idea concerning the "refugee" crisis: in spite of "closing borders" between many EU/Schengen countries > put all of them on sealed trains heading directly non-stop to Merkel Land, then close borders with Germany . I know it sound weird, but lots of "innocent" people are suffering because of "The Reich", it would be a fair return of this entire "crazy" situation and help to fulfill the 800'000 "illegal" immigrants quota that she wants so much to welcome .

Germans made a bit of a mess here, but I also feel sorry for Syrian refugees. The war there is very real indeed. From their point of view what else could they do to survive and provide for their families? I'd probably do the same if I was from there... And in any case Germany will need some more people soon to avoid population decline.

that's the thing, isn't it?
Even if they are "safe" in the refugee camp in Turkei or anywhere, but what a hell. I wouldn't stay in a refugee camp if you paid me 100 000 Euro ! No job, no house, no car, maybe a woman if you are lucky, just waiting to be given food? For a short time, you can live in "emergency" situation, but this has been years, need to go back to life...

don't drift too much off the thread topic, guys (I know it's difficult not to...)

Current photo of the H/UA border crossing Tiszabecs. The nearest town on the UA side is Vylok/Tisza˙jlak.

(img src: origo.hu)

Officials from the Hungarian side reported to the media that Afghan and Pakistani illegals started to pour in at this crossing, with approx. a dozen per week, and Syrians begin to appear as well (thus we are at our "favourite" discussion again...)

That must then be the oldest land border in the World.

Tornio finnish/swedish border

The Interior Ministry of Finland is introducing more frequent border controls in Tornio.

Immigrants who come to the border will not be able to continue into Tornio in Finland before they are registered as asylum seekers.

The Border control between Tornio and Haparanda is not fully sealed yet, at least for this Saturday afternoon.

Swedish police are helping the customs to monitor the border area.
as asylum seekers stil were able to still move freely on the swedish side of the border area.

This Saturday afternoon the atmosphere around the border area was not as strained as on friday,
when around 800 refuguees is thought to have passed through.

I guess they will apply for asylum. Finland is the end of the road. Unless they want to go further to Russia...

I know they are, but surely freight traffic wouldn't be using anything but Bajakovo-Batrovci anyway?

Why is the 18km queue for entering Serbia? I think Croatia controls entering persons, not Serbia . I think, if there's a 18km queue for entering Serbia, the queue towards Croatia must be much longer...

btw: An arson attack on a future accommodation for refugees happened close to me last night. 330 camp beds were prepared in a sports hall yesterday. It was planned that refugees/immigrants will move there soon... It's a shame .

Between all these pictures related with syrian migrations, here is the old border inside Morocco: between the Morocco controled by France and Morocco controled by Spain

probably the significant part of traffic that would usually use H-SRB border crossings is detoured to HR.

but also, Croatian trucks often use smaller border crossings (Tovarnik - Őid), tlahough they are not impacting the crowd significantly.

Still a 11km queue today, along with a 2.5km queue at Bregana which is still shut for freight vehicles.

Media are not completely wrong about calling it "the ugly face of Europe". Who, in 1989, when Commie fences were dismantled, would have imagined this might become necessary one day?
