"Netherland" sounds too much like "Neverland"

Seriously, "the Netherlands" sounds better IMO. "Dutch" comes from "Diets", which still comes from the Middle Ages. "Netherlandish" sounds weird anyway

Here's a few of my pictures from southern Poland.

Trstená (SK) > Chyżne (PL)

Jurgów (PL) > Podspády (SK)

And back into Poland on the same crossing.

Niedzica (PL) > Lysá nad Dunajcom (SK)

Jasnowice (PL) > Bukovec (CZ)

This crossing also happens to be the nearest one to the PL/CZ/SK tripoint so here's an extra photo from the site. The sign reads "House of three nationalities."

The Slavonic "niem-" is from Polish "niemy" and means dumb. First Polish ruler named Germans dumbs because he could't understand anything they have said.

Tyskland is the same word as Deutschland. Tysk and Deutsch come from Proto-Germanic thioda = people.

Don't want to insult you, but I want to tell you that we, the other Slavs, also have languages. The root *nēm > niem-/nem-/nijem-/нем-/ням- - is used in ALL Slavic languages to denote the idea of dumbness. Most scientists suggest that the name "Slavs" (slovēn-) comes from the word "slovo" (word) and it initially meant "people who are able to talk (the same language)". So every other nation was basically "niemcy".

"Mute"! Dumb is not used anymore as it became offensive. Same with "****" - used to mean a rooster.
