Wasn't this approved about a year ago or does it have to be re-submitted because the 'boot' portion has been axed? The lower floors (3-12) of the tower have been redesigned to loft suites with 10' ceilings. I wish they'd just start digging. This will be the coolest tower in the city.

Word is that this building will be under construction soon. A member on urbantoronto.ca has posted a letter sent out to buyers indicating that a lunch will be held on Oct. 21 to celebrate the beginning of construction.

For those unfamiliar with the recent happenings concerning the design, here are the latest models:

The renderings on the left are old. The curved podium is no longer part of the design. The renderings on the right are the most up-to-date:

What is it with all these L-Shaped towers. There was one proposed in Moscow that looked just like it. Cool building nonetheless.

The new base isn't quite as good as the old, but it still suits the tower well I think.

Apparently 3 weeks to go before they start digging.

This project is indeed underway - preliminary work has already taken place, including removal of some of the cladding from the Sony Centre (which will be enveloped by the L Tower)....City of Toronto documents show that closure of the Esplanade, the street directly facing the project is expected to take effect January 13, 2010, and will be in effect till May 31, 2013, to allow for construction.

*mods* - can we move this to -under construction-......thx

Nice tower... but isn't for Toronto.

This is a much better design;

Still not bad, considering it's going on top of an existing building.
