Gee, I'm just getting (fabulously) used to Latitude munchcing up W.T., after getting (fabulously) used to W.T. having topped out - once you turn into George from Central.

Now we have to (fabulously) get used to a mid-riser from this vantage point arising in the foreground of Latitude, if all goes well.

Just thinking about it makes me tired (from excitement)!!

Still maintains the Rialto Tower look, with a spire (turbine) much better than what big Rialto will be getting.

The previous diagram shows heights in RLs.

On comparison the new tower @ 112m to roof (142 to spire/wind turbine) over 35 levels, so it will be slightly taller to roof than nearby Roden Cutler & noticeably taller to roof than Sydney Plaza.

According to ss.com:
Roden Cutler = 108m @ 30 levels
Sydney Plaza = 100m @ 25 levels

720 george st will be RL118m to roof or Rl148m to spire.
Aspect will be Rl150m to spire (the digram is earlier scheme)

I really hate both of these 2 towers, esp Sydney Plaza. Such an insult to the name of our great city. They could have done a better job with the renovation a couple of years ago! Anyway be happy, it will soon be well hidden with the current wave of new towers.

Sydney Plaza looks quite good following the renovation. It looks as if it were built not so long ago. The building before that was filth.

Roden Cutler building desperately needs an uplift!

Hope someone will realise that further down the track - I would pull it down and build something decent (why not another residential!!) within the height limit.....

Roden Cutler actually protudes thru height plane due to being built (1973) before sun planes introduced! So if it was to be converted it would just stay same height but obviuosly full of balconies ect.RCH is 30 years old this year! it needs a refurb!

view south along pitt st. Aspect will hid some of RCH from this view!

heres a pic of Sydney Plaza with site of ASPECT to the left and site of 720 george st behind Sydney pl.

i was only saying last week to Tonyp that the bottom 3 floors of Sydney plaza look fab! (steel panelling) they should of kept it going right up full height of bldg!! instead of cheap paint job.

The panelling would make it look brutalist like that of UTS.

And Culwulla, do you have a pic of the building before it got recladded just to prove my point how ugly it was before.

Just a reminder, Sydney Plaza wasn't recladded - it was a paint job as mentioned by CULWULLA, by his 2 posts ago.

Looking forward to it Cul!

RE: Sydney Plaza, the refurbishment really did improve it dramatically - now it looks like a standard, bland, generic box, as opposed to a foul, brown generic box!

When Aspect and 720 George are built, Sydney Plaza will seem much more bearable, because it will just be one tower of many, and won't stand out so much!

Looks unreal!

One of the most intriguing residential towers to date! I like the facade, spire and yeah, palm trees! Very groovy!
