I absolutely love ROT!
It's also quite interesting what people think of buildings! I enjoy it very much to rate, just did top 100 and top 3000 and will do top 200 later, and i also opened some polls in the open forum, this section ist just great!

Will Taipei 101 be added soon? It was topped out on October 9.

I remember there were at least 100 people (who are jealous of the BOC) had voted 3-or-less couple weeks ago, and now the number was reduced to 70 something.
Same thing happens to the Chrysler Building, but all the 3-or-less votes were canceled. Did anyone had adjusted the result? Why the all the 3-or-less votes of Chrysler were omitted but the votes of BOC were not? I think it is not fair.

^I just noticed something funny. Wondering why the Chrysler's score dropped to 8.99, I opened the Chrysler and BOC's threads in seperate windows and looked at the votes next to eachother. The amounts of votes for each number on both buildings are almost identical, except Chrysler has about 40 votes for 3.5 (almost none for 3 or less) and BOC has about 70 for 3 or less (almost none for 3.5). So you'd think BOC would be lower than Chrysler, but BOC is still almost half a point higher. Is something glitched or is it just me?

Now it had been changed again.
This time the average of the Chrysler had fallen dramatically from 9.3 to 8.7 within 2 weeks, but the total votes have changed much. Did anyone change/cancel the votes? Can anyone explain why?

I think the "Rate Our Skylines" chart should be restarted every 2 or 3 years, since skylines change a lot over the years. Let's say you gave Dubai a 6.0 in 2002. Since then, dozens of new skyscrapers have been built and the skyline changed quite a bit. This is also true for a lot of other (especially asian) cities such as Chongqing, Shanghai, Sharjah, Taipei,...

Wouldn't be fair that in case of Twin Towers both buildings be listed?
Like Petronas Towers or Emirates Towers. Each tower have different height, and in case of Emirates Towers, at least, even different use (1 = Office, 2 = Hotel). I think this will be more fair. |

It certainly appears more accurate but over here we've decided to treat twins, triplets and so on as 1 entity, meaning that we can have more buildings to rate and to maintain a consistency of 100 threads per forum. In some cases, you'll have to count 5 or 6 buildings on the list merely because theyre cloned residentials. |

But "cloned residentials" aren't even near 200 meters of height, let alone taller then 300 or 400.
So more apropriate, and as a kind of compromise, will be to list separately twin towers if they are taller then 200 meters. |

Dont worry, we are arranging with Dubai_Lover to get the thread started. Of course we will need good pics, otherwise it will shortchange the building. Just compare with the kinds of pics we have for other buildings in the top100.
Be a little patient

The above pics are all 3.1 MP. I have provided to DL the links to Imagestation for the original size images and if Imagestation doesn't allow you to access them, I'll be more then happy to e-mail the original pictures to someone.
