Coeur d'Alene - USA

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
Coeur d'Alene, Idaho is a tourist paradise and has continued to grow and is becoming one of Idaho's fastest growing cities. With a population of 41,000 people in 2006, Coeur d'Alene is the county seat and largest city in Kootenai County. It is about 30 miles from Spokane Washington. Coeur d'Alene Lake is a 30 miles long lake and is a tourist hotspot by far. Many golf courses, and ski resorts around the proximity of the area.

Coeur d'Alene Lake empties into the Spokane River which then goes into the massive Columbia River. Indians first inhabited the area according to old French traders that named the area after them. Fort Coeur d'Alene was build by the lake in the 1870's. A town grew around the fort. The town grew into what it is today, a center for Northern Idaho.

To be honest, I think that this city would do better without any highrises. The building close to the beach look just awful - its mix of multiple styles makes it look ill-proportioned. What is it anyway?

They should stick with the lowrises and renovate them unless the city has grown much larger

aww, I love Coeur d'Alene! When I lived in Spokane that was totally the fun place to spend a day outside the city. However, as a skyline? Sorry, not much there.
4/10

ps- it always boggled my mind that coeur d'alene got new highrises like 10 years before spokane.

It's also the home of the white supremacist movement.

I've always thought of Coeur d'Alene as a charming, nice town - not a city with a skyline, the skyline is just okay, 5/10, but I really like the town itself

Based on the photos, I am pleasantly surprised!!! Had never heard of Coeur d'Alene before. Not much of a skyline to rate, but looks like things are picking up Certainly a nice surprise considering the size of the town. Thanks for presenting this place here.

It looks like a nice little town in a beautiful setting, but I dont see why this town needs highrises at all... Besides that, the highrises looks really awful to me. I'll give it a 3/10

The setting is fantastic, and the downtown area looks nicely dense, but the skyline isn't terribly impressive. I expect that will change once the new highrises are completed, and as more come down the pipeline as the city grows.

5/10
