I thought the current plot is going under demolition.
so should the title be changed to Demo?

Absolutely stunning building. Best thing for me in NYC since Seagram at least. Certainly on par and probably surpassing London's own Shard and Leadenhall Tower as another poster mentioned. Rather jealous but extremely impressed! One of the very best tall buildings of the decade.

The height in the title currently still may be too short. There may be different versions like someone stated before.

A recent article has stated that it is 1,200 feet tall.

I'm too lazy to find it, but I'm sure someone else will post it soon. It mentioned stuff about how buildings in NY are getting too tall and how there needs to be stricter zoning laws to prevent taller buildings; therefore, I don't want to see it again. Freaking NIMBYs; this is Manhattan Island; there should be no limits and zoning at all at least in business districts and the areas that are already packed with towers; in this city, you go big and tall or you go unnoticed.

I agree, how do people expect Manhattan to grow? Growth is inevitable and at even a modest rate, Manhattan should go higher, unless this wouldn't be the case if you were anti growth. I like that we can go higher low the nice lowrise stuff can stay.

I'm in love with it! Both the design and the principle! So is there a height restriction in Manhattan?

There's a height restriction across the whole of america of 2000ft I believe unless the structure would bbenefit from being taller such as radio masts.

The architecture is amazingly simmilar (in its due proportions) to the Nest, the Olympic Beijing Stadium, when seen from inside. That is very nice, altogether with its mixed residential, commercial and public (museum) use. Very innovative, I hope it sets new standards for all the biggest metro areas around the world, including mine!

The building seems a lot like the previous Freedom Tower, I like it, although its a bit abstract.

How do you mean abstract? Anyway, imho this building is better than any version of the FT ever rendered.

Construction is not set to start until next year.

According to Hines (the developer) he will start presales sometime mid-year.

Architecturally, this is my favorite skyscraper project in the US. It's just an incredible design. New York needs this, and I certainly hope construction starts no later than next year.

All those trusses are just too oversized, instead of charming they look way too scary to live in.,thus more like a birdcage instead of 5-star living tower.
