There's no way they'll light up a residential tower like that, not to mention the cladding looks pretty solid on the renders. No light strips visible.

I wonder if those blue lights on the building are an indication of the lighting scheme they'll use. If yes I wanna see those "veins" in red.
They could with dim LED's. Even dim lights would stand out as a highlight in contrast with the darkness, yet their light would be too weak to cause any glare that might disturb the residence. So it's possible. But I would prefer blue or green over red.

as long as they don't use floodlights (which would be impossible without setbacks or windowsills) i'm sure it would be allowed. They could probably integrate LEDs into the facade somehow without having lights shining into the tower.

The problem isn't light shining directly into the tower, it's more about light reflected in the haze -- that light pollution hangs there and dims the view from inside. And when you're paying tens of millions of dollars for the view, you don't want anything dimming it for you.

I doubt the building will be illuminated like it shows on that replica but Nouvel said the lighting scheme would look like "blood running through the veins of the structure" which sounds like the grid will be used in some way to illuminate the building. How they're gonna pull it off, I sure wanna know. My guess is it will be mainly around the crown.

I assumed that the beams would have LED lights like those on 425 Park, and therefore, it could light up at night like the model.

By the way, I just left the MoMA and that model is not on public display.

Some new renderings revealed at NyCurbed

More and bigger versions of the renderings can be found in the link above

Quote von the article:
Sales at the MoMA Tower, which has been in the works since 2006, are set to launch any day now. Jean Nouvel, the French starchitect responsible for the 1,050-foot supertall sporting an angular exoskeleton, gave a video interview earlier this month that revealed some new renderings and a peek at a model apartment. But now the teaser site itself is updated with fresh views of the building, and BuzzBuzzHome has uncovered pricing for 16 units even though there are no active sales listings to be found.

So far, the cheapest unit is a 1,428-square-foot one-bedroom, 1.5-bath asking $3.18 million. It's on the 20th floor. The least expensive two-bedroom, on the 31st floor, wants $10.95 million for its 3,558 square feet. On the 28th floor, a $7.685 million three-bedroom has 3.5 bathrooms and 2,691 square feet. The most expensive unit we know of right now takes up the 63rd floor, filling 6,786 square feet with four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. The price tag? $50.9 million. This newly announced tower on Central Park South will apparently block many of the lower units' views—but this is a day nine years in the making, so let's focus on the good stuff.

Really nice!

Although the furniture doesn't fit here. Some early-mid century modern stuff like the Eames or Barcelona chairs would work better.

New life goal, make enough money to live in this building

The apartments/pool look much cozier and nicer than 432, at least from the pictures.

This building is nice, but that park view is not going to be there by the time it's finished.
It's almost false advertising.....
With all that cash ( to buy ) being on 53rd st between 6th and 5th would not be my first choice, no matter how fancy the building looks on the outside.

Location, location, location.

yeah it is. you need to be born into it (ie fall out of the correct vagine), or win the 1 in 100000000 luck lottery(ie right place at the right time with the right connections).

Or ya know make it yourself... what ever works best.
I think the market will be mostly new money anyway. Old money stays in the mansions on long island.
