do monopolies handed out to the friends of the state count as old money or new money?

Um... sorry to go off topic but ordinary people become millionaires all the time. J.K. Rowling was born into poverty and now look at her. Same with many actors/tech people etc. It's not actually my life goal and I was just making a joke but just sayin'

Considering the units start in the 3-4 million range that's not really too unrealistic for many smart/hardworking people who know how to acquire wealth. 100 million + penthouse? Yea that's a probable never lol, but I wouldn't want that anyway, too extreme.

50 million is relatively cheap for what this tower is,but,i have a feeling there is some 60-100 million units somewhere

So sad, 1,250' would have been absolutely amazing.

Indeed. The 1250 foot renderings and models were nothing short of breathtaking. It's now just a cool looking 1000 foot tower. I am hoping nothing happens to the current height and design of 111 w 57th, which is my favorite tower uc in NY.

It doesn't need to be 1200 feet, I didn't like it at that height. I'm glad they cut it down.

True, but it'll be amazing at 1050' too, so no worries.

Losing a few feet in itself isn't that bad. The design change in the crown to achieve that is.

This tower is definitely going to be nice, like Hudson Yards. I think Nordstrom will also be a large success. I am still un sure about 111 West 57th. The design for Steinway is really unconventional, however it may look amazing.

It was delayed for 7 years because of the Great Recession. Now work is finally happening!

I think that the height reduction made the tower look much better if you ask me
