We need daily picture updates of this this beauty. It's incredible.

Though I wonder if it'd look even better with some bronze tinted glass like Seagram? Perhaps once it's occupied and interior lights are on it could be a little brighter, more alive.

But amazing nonetheless.

I was thinking the same, or I wished for the building to have a little more eccentric glass, but when I say eccentric I don't mean tacky. Some not very noticeable bronze shade would look good, I think. Maybe when the rays at sunset touch the glass we will get that sort of effect.
Not that I complain, the building looks amazing with the black glass, I love skyscrapers with this sort of cladding and I think they made the best choice.

+1. I tried taking some pictures last week, and they just don't do this tower justice.

Great updates by the way, they're always appreciated.

I think the color shifts gradually from black at the bottom to brown/bronze in the mid section. At the top the middle fin goes back to black, the outer ones go to gold an silver.

I don't think it will end up like that, it looked to me like just a fancy effect for the renders.

Cladding won't change color

The cladding will Change color at the tops of the east (silver) and west (gold) fins but the center will stay black. Correct me if I'm wrong I'm going off last years renders and they seem pretty legit.

That's correct.

Nouvel actually states exactly that in that clip.

^ That's so great. I also thought that's just an effect for the renders. I love the gradient.

Same, I totally assumed it was a "twilight" sort of effect. That really casts this whole project in a different light.

Probably some foreign oligarch, that left behind his dysfunctional country, after grabbing the money in large amounts.

I had no idea that the cladding would change color. I thought it was just a "lightning" effect on the renders. Excited to learn something new about this up and coming beauty!

This is what separates towers like this and 111W57 from the rest of the towers going up in the city or anywhere else, it's the amount of details put into the design. Not only is the design great but every detail seems to be thought through, a true masterpiece.

Looks like you're right!
I didn't think this building could get more interesting but it just did, very cool.

I'm curious how that will turn out. Such gradients in colour rarely look good in the final product.

I just remembered that Nouvel said the nighttime lighting scheme would resemble blood running through veins (they mention it in this article: https://www.6sqft.com/jean-nouvels-m...-diagrid-skin/). That sounds kind of hard to pull off but if it works it would be something else.
