Why? It's not like Verre will have a competing observation deck, and the tower itself will add to the view, not detract from it.

That is very true - which is an actual bonus in itself.

No one complains that the Empire State Building ruins the view!

The taller, the better!

The difference is the Empire State being situated much further away from the observation deck than the Tour de Verre, which will almost be right in front of it.

Personally, I love it.

I seriously can't wait - this will be an added attraction and a reason to pay for a ticket to the observation deck.

The "problem" with Top of the Rock and Verre is that you might not get the full view of Central Park anymore. Not that I mind a close-up of Verre.

Right now, as I type, people are plotting to kill this tower; we live in a sick world.

Seriously.

Eggs. We're going to need chicken eggs and dynamite and an explosives expert and someone who knows people in high places so we don't get called terrorists cause we are the counter-terrorists.

I don't even think anything mentioned would be enough to send the NIMBYs to hell. All I can picture is the bad guy from Terminator 2.

The shape reminds me of the Hearst Magazine Tower.
