I like this tower. The design seems to be a cross between a Foster design and a Gehry design. Very nice.

It is getting easier to build in the US for international companies, given the low dollar and labor rates.

so as its only proposed...how long does it usually take for planning to get approved? months or about a year?

Since he bought all the air rights it is as of rights. I would say construction starts in the next 6 months or so since pre sales are at the end of 2008 (so I heard).

The apartments in this tower will sell out immediately at $5 to $6k per square foot. The press release also says that it will have a seven star hotel. I wonder if it will be a Jumeireh since they seem to have the only 7 star hotels in the world.
