Looks kinda strange though from certain angles.

The americans keep building these skyscrapers bigger and better each time despite the fact they cannot afford them. Its not helping their financials.

All that's needed in the renders is spiderman hanging out on the side.

Hello New Yorkers. I live in Brazil, and I'll tell you what vision we have of the city of New York. The Brazilians are living the American dream, where all dress, act, eat like the people of the United States.

On the subject of "what is the capital of the world", here the answer is the same: New York. The difference from Brazil to the United States: Here, people complain that a 20-story building is tall and foremost, while in NY people are complaining that a building of 60 floors is down more. That's the big difference. They may even talk of Sao Paulo, but there just has old buildings and dirty. The town is known internationally because of its economy.

NY humiliates any city, for power, the buildings, culture and economy in general!

This is one tower that I am completely utterly jealous over. Can Toronto have one of these please? We need another signature tower.

Really unfortunate, I would like to see this tower with its original height of 1250 ft.

EDIT: There is no way to buy the rights to air, as was done in other projects in NY?
(Do not know if they're right to final height of the project, or changes may occur.)

Here's the latest community opposition to this masterpiece. (Fortunately, the developer has the air rights and the city's approval for 300+m.)

MoMa Mia!
Opponents of MoMA Tower Accuse it of Brooding, Being TallThe war of petitions over Jean Nouvel's shrinking Tower Verre continues, and a tipster passed along the challengers' attorney's latest memo in the case. One of the biggest problems for the MoMA tower's opponents all along has been the developers' environmental impact statement, which they say ignores the real effect of the tower's height on residential buildings in the neighborhood. The most recent memo is a response to the city and developers' legal paperwork, so here, a few of the locals' key arguments against Nouvel's building:

1) The building is tall! Almost four times as tall as the structure previously approved for the same spot: "The differences in terms of (1) blocked views, (2) shadows, (3) consistency with the existing scene and, to be poetic, (4) the brooding omnipresence of the Tower are self-evident."

Brooding omnipresence, huh? What else ya got?! >>

Talking about shadows in NYC which has many hundred skyscrapers is just ridiculous! What about the positive things that this tower would bring to the city? Wanna talk about that?

Stupid NIMBYs- good thing that NYC wasn't built according to their wish, or it would have looked like this:

thats crazy i have been down there before and really the sight isn't that large and there are already a lot of semi tall buildings surrounding the area these people need to shut up and deal with it.

also i don't see how it will block any views since you cant really see too much from there since all the buildings are pretty much close to the same height and the shadows wouldn't really darken anything since they move with the sun rises and sets

The Nimbys can go suck the world's biggest dick because there's nothing they can do to stop Tower Verre from getting built.

That's true. This tower is a done deal. Moroever, their arguments are ridiculous because Extell has started one tower nearby that is over 300m and will start in a year or two another nearby tower that is over 300m.
