I haven't followed this building closely but if they wanted more floor space add it then just put the original design crown on top...the truncated point on top looks a bit lame to me ? I mean....New York is skyscrapercity so get over limits.....really !

No. The crown is the slanted rooftop which approximates the original design (before it was increased to 1,250 feet).

I like this better than the 1,250 foot version.

I like the design and the height. I thought 1,250 feet was a little to tall, for such a thin building.

I'd say that's an objective truth, though that's quite something in an aesthetical context.
But anyone who says something else should really take a closer look.

Proportions fit way better now.
