I think this tower will draw the eye despite its (relatively) short height, just like Hearst Tower does.

BTW this tower looks amazing, but if it was higher... It also has one of the greatest location in NY as well, I like it. Hope it will be built very soon.
Midtown is a horrible place to live, especially here. This is literally above MoMA - nice in and of itself, but the swarms of tourists are annoying - and also next to Fifth Avenue, which is even worse.

The stretch of Fifth next to TV is also not quite as nice as upper Fifth, and marks the transition between Bergdorf's etc and the flagship stores for mass market brands like Uniqlo.

The TV will also have absolutely no views below the 500-600' level. I used to work in the Calyon Building at 52nd/6th, and we were on the 37th Floor - roughly 500 feet up - and you could barely see anything. It was nice, but still - FAR from unobstructed.

As if the news about the North Tower were not enough, Hines filed more documents with the DOB on the 1st of July for Tour Verre.

I have a Woodrow!

This has other great ramifications too. HBO's current HQ on 42nd and 6th will be emptied. It would be a great location for a new hotel.

People have been waiting 5 hours daily to see the Rain exhibit.

Still no word if financing has been sealed for this tower? It's taking forever for news to come out on this building.

Hines filed more documents on ACRIS in late May. Now that the Rain Room exhibit is over, work should start in the Autumn, assuming that Hines finalizes financing.

No doubt Hines already has the funds but may be looking for extra loans since interest rates are so low. I'd accuse them of gambling with other people's money but a tower this special is never a gamble.

That's my assumption, as well. This project is money in the bank for any investor. That being said, these deals take quite some time to finalize.

So it's only because of money that this projects' construction didn't started yet?

WSP Cantir has been chosen as the project's engineer. It posted the following on its website in April of 2013:

Apparently, Goldman Sachs has a stake in this project.

Good to know. Now I'm 100% positive this project will happen.
