true plastic seats look somehow cheap... but i think they are more comfortable than wooden ones... at least they can bend a little underneath... wooden just stay as they were when you sit on them
nice work presenting us U6

why are there combinations on that first post E6-C6-T-C6-E6... looks weird combining old and new...

I believe they wanted to provide low-floor service on every train but could not afford afford phasing out the old trains quickly enough.

When are the old ones phasing out btw, it can't take too long anymore I guess.

I have heard those combined trains, are not only causing problems in maintaining a tight frequency without delays but also are bad for the trains as well as they cause larger maintenance efforts.

Correct. Combined use causes more wear and tear than necessary.

That would be great, if the metro network would already look like that!

2020? At the very best? (The very best is always unlikely to happen in Vienna, so I would not expect it.)

2020 is scheduled.

Next step will be the extension of U2 to the East (Flugfeld Aspern).

In other words (like I said ), that's rather unrealistic.

Call me a troll, but I would not like to see the U5 realized in the west of Vienna. It almost definitely would make my PT connections into the city worse because it would tear that very dense Tram service into pits and pieces. Of course, as addition (!) not replacement for the tram network I would welcome it, but lets be honest, thats illusionary. In Vienna better U-Bahn connection means always making the tram network worse.

I think that along Hernalser Hauptstraße, the SP might take different actions than along Ausstellungsstraße.

Imo the inner districts defintly needs the U2 extention and the U5 to replace bus lines 13A and 14A which are always crowded. Especially the 13A line is very very crowded in the rushhours..

BTW: I like how that map makes it look as if you could easily walk from Siebenhirten to Hütteldorf. After all, it's just 8.5 km

Are there any reasons why one should start believing in some miraculous change of a long lasting "tradition"?
