Helsinki and Vienna are both nice.
I like the plastic seats, allthough I prefer the covered ones.

But tue Munich Metro is really beautiful inside.

The new S-Bahn station at Vienna Airport. I must say, I happen to like it a lot!

But... why it's called in effinglish? It's a shame. It would be better to call it "Flughafen-Express" or whatever i guess.

German is pretty productive language... it should handle the names in Austria as well.

The CAT is very comfortable, but a little too expensive.

English was perhaps chosen to make it sound more modern and understandable for tourists.

Stockholm didn't see the need to put their Arlanda Express into English. I don't believe that tourists would find it hard to cope if it was in German to be honest. You guys shouldn't have to feel the need to put things into English simply to please tourists.

Umm, "express" is a word derived from English (it's not a Swedish word), so it is indeed an internationalized name. A Swedish name would be "Arlanda Snabbtåg" or something similar.

I think it's great to use standardized and internationalized names for systems like this-- particularly for airport trains.

LOL
that's a smooth lie! hahaha

express comes from latin!
u can find it in today's italian as: esprimere->espresso

As for standardized names - why should we do that? And why in english?
Let's make it spanish, chinese or the best solution would be esperanto... but i think, we can use easy pictograms/icons of a plane for strangers to make it easy to understand.

Nevertheless this CAT train looks cute.

NEVER use the CAT. It's 9€ one-way, a total tourist trap and a rip-off. Use the ordinary S-Bahn. That's just a mere 3,40€ to the city center or 1,70€ to the city limits. (if you already have a network ticket for Vienna's zone 100)

Are both of those services (S-Bahn and CAT) going from the same platform?

So.. if you arrive in Vienna Airport... You can easyly get the S-Bahn into the city centre, and pay that little money to go into the city centre?

So what's the catch?

What is the transit time for both services?

Or Rome.

The CAT takes 16 minutes non-stop.
The S-Bahn takes about 24-28 minutes (to Wien-Mitte) with 7 intermediate stops . The only major difference is that the CAT is heavily advertised (even on the plane upon arrival) and the S-Bahn is the ordinary commuter train. (With perhaps a little less storage space, but if you arrive with one bag per person, you'll be fine.)
