I also caught by surprise. I just saw one of the E trains recently.

Anyway let's look into the future. Now that only T trains are left, can we expect any slight improvements or will everything remain the same? Is it maybe possible to reach higher potential max frequencies with only T trains being run on the track? What is for sure is probably that at least the maintenance costs will decrease as the combined trains are gone now.

Durch diese Geschwindigkeitsanhebung erhofft man sich, der Fahrzeitverkürzung gerecht zu werden.

Die E6/c6-Garnituren wurden in den Jahren 1979 bis 1985 sowie 1990 gebaut, die ersten Wägen gingen im November 1980 auf der damaligen Gürtelstadtbahn in Betrieb.
Nach bis zu 28-jährigem Betrieb in Wien sind die Aufgaben dieser Züge aber noch lange nicht vorbei, denn viele dieser Wägen wurden bereits oder werden noch ins Ausland (Krakau und Utrecht) verkauft, wo sie weiterhin im Dienst des öffentlichen Verkehrs stehen werden.
