Yeah I think it's safe to say that after Zia, Pakistan was never really the same.

Anyway, keep the pictures coming.

Why you always react like that? Yes, they were allowed, Pakistan was very open back then. Also, these foreign women are allowed even now, it's jsut that they themselves choose to be modest (if they do so, like Diana and shalwar qameez). They still wear such skirts, I can recently remember couple of such women, Albright and Rice, I think. Pakistan is not Afghanistan. Have you actually ever lived in Islamabad? I've seen umpteen foreigners wearing skirts (knee-high) in Karachi, I'm sure there must be several times more in Islamabad. I just recently saw this goree (was from far, so couldn't guess the nationality) in a miniskirt at Khadda Market in Karachi. This lady was doing her shopping. She wasn't even working in an embassy or anything, since her license plate was a normal one.

Probably not. It much more likely to be the other way round. But I dunno, never been in the company of foreign women in Pak. I've also never visited Karachi.

So, If foreign women are allowed to wear skirts. Then why aren't Pakistani women, who are out in the streets allowed?

Doesn't Islamabad have the highest number of foreigners in Pakistan? I always thought so. Girls in Karachi at least do wear a lot of revealing stuff (relatively). I'm sure the same would be true of the other 2 cities too. For example those 3-quarter shorts, you can spot countless girls wearing them. They show everything below and incl. the knees.

From what I've heard from people and read in the magazines. The city most comfortable with skin show IS Karachi, then its Lahore and then Islamabad which trails behind both of these cities. I actually believe it. This is understandable as big cities do tend to be more open than smaller cities.

You can't be made that but I'm glad you are not in denial anymore.

I believe we must be free to how we feel, even homophobia, as long as its not forced upon others or institutionalized.
