Here are some Pictures of the Vienna Airport upgrading constructions.
To be finished in 2008.
Construction of a new terminal:
-76.000 m²
-500 m length
-100 check-ins
-51 gates
-17 docking stations (5 for A380)

I saw the terminal in august and the terminal looked pretty nice. I actually got a "bus" tour around new terminal

since apparently there wasn't any free gates available.

it´s gonna be finished in early 2008???

i was there in september and i didn't saw anything...
in december i'm going back so i hope to use the new one

Not much was visible in Autumn 2006, last time I was there. Vienna needs it really badly, the current one is soooo outdated.

If you were in September 2007 and you didn't see anything, then there is a problem.
They had almost all cladding done on terminal and other exterior in august ( cladding is HOT!!, love it)

The new terminal looks very good. The current terminal is really out of date. I also really like the new tower

thks dude...
i said "i didn't see anything" meaning everything was hidden, out of my eyes, i was wondering to put an eye on it, but it was not possible... i just saw some 3D pics around the airport

anyway, i hope to catch something in early 2008...

LONDON, November 30 (newratings.com) - Analysts at JP Morgan initiate coverage of Vienna International Airport (FLW.FSE) with a "neutral" rating. The 12-month target price is set to €80.

In a research note published this morning, the analysts mention that the company has recorded 9.9% passenger growth year-to-date, the highest among major European hub airports. The new Skylink terminal, which is scheduled to be ready in 2009, is expected to result in a rise in Vienna International Airport’s retail spend per passenger, the analysts say. Since the company is currently investing heavily into the new Skylink terminal, its ROCE is expected to improve beyond 2010, with capex normalizing and an improvement in asset utilization, JP Morgan adds.

Flughafen Wien interested in Prague airport

NEW YORK, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Flughafen Wien wants to expand in eastern Europe and is interested in Prague's Ruzyne airport, the Vienna airport operator's chief executive said.

"We are looking at further projects in eastern Europe and we are interested in Prague's airport," Herbert Kaufmann told journalists late on Tuesday on the margins of an investment conference in New York.

In September, the Czech government approved a plan to convert the state-owned Prague airport into a joint stock company and wants to complete the sale by end-2008.

Last year, the airport had 11.6 million passengers and made a net profit of 972 million crowns ($176 million) on sales of 5 billion crowns.

Czech media quoted the airport's director, Miroslav Dvorak, last week as saying it had attracted interest from dozens of potential bidders, including major airport operators and financial investors.

Regarding Vienna airport, Kaufmann said he expected growth rates in passenger numbers for 2007 to exceed a forecast 8 percent, as it had already done so in the first nine months.

For 2008, Kaufmann expected that passenger growth rates would exceed average growth in Europe.

"It will be very positive (next year), because some of the low-cost carriers have not operated throughout the whole year this year," he said, adding he expected that more airlines would fly to and from Vienna next year.

"We brought 12 new airlines (to Vienna) this year and we are having more talks," he said. "But one could not expect that we can add as many as that every year."

Kaufmann said Flughafen Wien would give a more detailed outlook in January.

By 0921 GMT, Flughafen Wien shares traded up 2.3 percent at 77.55 euros, outstripping the Austrian blue chip index ATX <.ATX> which was up 0.63 percent. (Reporting by Eva Komarek, writing by Karin Strohecker; Editing by Paul Bolding and David Cowell)

Basically planned for early 2008, it was delayed to fall 2008.
