Wow, awesome pictures, o0ink!
I can't believe that it's topped off already. Last time I was in Vienna (Oct. 2011) it was hardly visible and now it's the tallest skyscraper in Vienna!

It looks incredibly massive if you stand in front of the front side

DC Towers well and good, but for a real skyline as the Frankfurt is this not enough yet.

At least we got a historical culture which is much more interesting than Frankfurt. Frankfurt is boring, excepted their skyscrapers.
But of course, we need to build more buildings...in a higher density.

A large part of Frankfurt was indeed destroyed in World War 2 and must be reconstructed.
Frankfurt at that time possessed the largest contiguous Old Town

I agree, but only as long as they stay in Donaucity. I think that Vienna's old city could be disturbed if skyscrapers were built within the inner districts.. fortunately that won't happen anyway.

However, a little skyline in the 22nd would be really awesome! The Donaucity is still so small, I would be really amazed if a supertall was once announced. As far as I know, there is currently a vast shortage on apartements in Vienna.. some residential towers would be great..

Indeed! I would love to have a Beekman Tower in the DC, it looks stunning.

As a matter of fact, there are already plans for a 150m residential in the DC: http://www.danubeflats.at/

I really dunno why so many people bitch about Vienna and its Donau City skyline. They began building highrises there in 1999 or so and it has been constantly growing ever since. Now they even built our first real skyscraper, the lovely DC Tower. As you can see in the picture I did post above, Vienna's skyline is actually pretty decent and can totally compete with cities like Berlin which has a quite boring skyline given its enormous size. Point is: Vienna's skyline is growing and growing. In let's say 2025 it could be able to compete with cities like Frankfurt.

Also, Vienna still has its precious historical center which is great. Look at Warsaw, for example. They had to build skyscrapers and highrises there since everything got destroyed. Nothing against Warsaw, by the way. Great city.

Frankfurt of course has a "better" Skyline than Vienna. No doubt about that.

But:

1) This thread is not about comparing or contesting.
2) Frankfurts skyline is definitely overrated and no longer "the best" in Europe. It depends on the angle of view whether you find it impressive or just...normal.
