by far the best sunrise i've ever seen. shame my camera's optics needed cleaning, as all the pics i took have specs on them now.

ta mukky!

yeah i had a skylight filter on. debatable whether a skylight filter is natural or not isn't it?
doesn't a skylight filter cut out what the human eye can't see anyway in UV rays? where's medo. i don't know these things.

Clean your lens/sensor for fucks sake before you do anything else.!

A UV filter will warm up a picture but only where there is strong sunlight. It would seem you were just lucky to catch a nice sunrise - fliter or not.

i have heard there are ways of doing that. thanks for offering but i didn't put much effort into the pics in the first place as i knew they were going to have specs. as such they're out of focus and whatnot.

certainly not unsavable[I think you just made up a new word] just takes patience to remove the offending articles

Do you use an SLR?
If you do that looks like sensor debris and needs sorting asap.
If you dont and that is lens dust then please look after your lens a bit better thank you.
They are half decent shots ruined by spotting.
Treat your camera like you would your willy.
Give it lots of attention but keep it clean and get it out in front of impressionable girls as often as possible.

i have the swabs and liquid to clean the sensor, right pain in the bum. done it once before, was shitting it i'd scratch the sensor but i didn't.
knew the shots would be fucked when i was taking them

When changing lenses make sure you turn your camera off because if its powered up the sensor is charged and will attract debris like flies round shit.
Compressed air is better than liquid and swabs unless you have got some serious sticky stuff on your sensor.

i had no idea about turning it off. hopefully my camera will still be salvagable by the time i've learnt the basics! i did use compressed air once somewhere on my camera but i couldn't get the hang of not getting propellant everywhere. i also tried one of those rubber blowers once and it ended up spitting sticky rubber on the sensor, that the canned air couldn't blow off...hence the investment in those overpriced sensor swabs and whatsit-called liquid.
good point though, i'll try just canned air this time first.
i forgot how interesting DSLR maintenance could be... why go to the cinema when you can stay in swabbing the inside of a camera for an evening!
