1. No one cares what you want. We're not here for your benefit.
2. There have been facts aplenty in this thread. You want them? You go find them. 3. If you don't like it, then don't post in this thread. In fact, don't even read it. Simples. |

2013 will be built only in supermarkets, and when the stadium is not clear. Can you tell me when Tottenham Hotspurs will grab the first match will play in a new stadium?

The supermarket is being built to help fund the stadium and it has to be done first so that funding avenue is opened up. The fact the construction on the supermarket starts this year is a good indication the stadium construction will follow straight on. And if everything goes to plan the stadium will be open around 2016. Now of course that is dependent on other sources of funding, but to say that the stadium will not be in place in the next decade is stupid. You don't know that and there's every indication it will be.
Please leave this thread alone if it's annoying you okulaja. Last edited by RobH; April 16th, 2012 at 02:03 PM. |

We'll be getting new shirt sponsors in the summer (I think). Hopefully the new sponsor will also be in for the stadium naming rights. If it's anything like the last deal we will probably have to wait till late July before it will be announced.

But let me explain something to you anyway. In England, the vast majority of football clubs have to pay for their own stadiums. They aren't built, paid for and owned by local or national government. Therefore, clubs have to exercise great caution when undertaking the building of stadiums. This is especially the case for a big, high quality stadium such as that which Spurs propose to build. The entire project will cost in the region of £450 million. That is a massive amount of money for a football club that isn't funded by an oil magnate. You might also have noticed that, over the past few years, the world (certainly the western world) has been experiencing its worst economic crisis for 80 years. That has inevitably had an adverse impact on the funding of this stadium - given that banks have not been lending and that naming rights sponsors are not falling over themselves to commit hundreds of millions. Nevertheless, we are now close to the beginning of construction. We don't have a specific date. But we do know that it will be next spring / summer. We don't have a specific price - but you shouldn't expect such information a year in advance. It is a volatile market and steel or labour costs, for instance, could be very different in a year's time. |

Or Spurs. But not Tottenham Hotspurs. And I believe that the first competitive match in the two thirds complete, new stadium will be in August 2015, with the stadium being fully complete by the following August. |

For no other reason than that Spurs cannot afford not to build it. They cannot afford to be turning away tens of thousands of fans every game because the current stadium is far too small. They cannot afford to be missing out on the extra £30 million + per annum that the new stadium would earn. By the way, language, in and of itself, isn't "empty". The long running and lively discussion that we have been having on this thread is just an indication of large numbers of passionate fans that Spurs has around the world. Nothing empty in that. |

As to this discussion already being 196 pages long despite the fact that construction has yet to begin, as I said previously, it's only because Spurs has such a large and passionate following. |
