The miami tower was a pretty nice tower for its time, you must admit. The fact that it comes close to this 21st century example is a tribute to its architects.

sorry in advance for posting this in more than one thread!

This is my crappy edit i've just done on paint

yes i know the Girasole is the wrong way around, but it gives an impression of what the building will look like along with the hudson yards

It's around 300m, seeing as tower E is supposed to be 287m tall? so it's only slightly taller than that:

Nice, everyone will think it's part of the HY since it's so close.

while it's not built directly on top of the Rail yards, it's probably going to be identified by average people as part of the neighborhood because like you said it's close. Same thing with Sherwood Equities' tower and One Hudson Yards

Yeah, do most people even know 7 wtc is part of wtc?
But it isn't bad, HY will become more popular when the towers will rise and this one can benefit.

Aren'y the Brookfield Manhattan West towers close to there as well? That's going to be quite an impressive combined complex.

Since you guys are talking about proximity I made this out of 3 pics. Could someone confirm whether the blues to the north can all be skyscrapers to supertalls?

Yup, those light blue should be at least 200 meters tall, likely much taller. The base FAR for those light blue sites is 10, with Related's Eastern Yards at 19, and Brookfield's MW at 12. But those are just baseline FAR numbers, the maximum FAR in those light blue areas ranges from between 18 all the way up to 33, which is massive.

All those orangey sites were rezoned as well to accommodate larger residential towers. This is a really large PDF file so be warned in advance, but it's from the city and breaks down all the rezoning of this area in very easy to understand color coded maps, which are always fun, and most importantly give you an idea of just how many towers this area will one day have.

Granted, this area of west Midtown could take 20 years before it's all developed, but it's going to be well worth the wait.

I added the confirmed supertalls and skyscrapers of the area that were not mentioned on the map in addition to some speculative supertall/megatall locations based on the FARs in question.

There will be no other place like this on Earth when all of these towers are done. http://i.imgur.com/KPuGIF0.jpg

They'll fit just fine, considering how many are going up.

The E Tower looks very different from different angles.

Something I appreciate. i like the sideways view most, with all setbacks visible.

If companies see the E tower design, they want a place in the North or the South Tower. So they will have the best view of this tower. Good marketing, right?
But at the same time, if the south tower is finished first, the tenants will be surrounded by other huge contruction sites for quite some time.
