This towers will be an instant success and will be come a NYC landmark, just as WTC1, ESB or Chrysler Building. It will be a referent of NYC's skyline.

Exactly. Silverstein wants to make a lot of sheckels at the WTC.

Ps: This landscaping is awesome.

Considering all the crap he's had to endure from the PA he's entitled to every penny he gets.

The PA and the City have licked Silverstein's nads. They paid him to build the white elephant, 1 WTC, and they leased a lot of space in 4 WTC. Lastly, they gave him a great financing deal for 3 WTC.

Considering the symbolism of the WTC, Larry shoud have done it at cost, like Related did.

Related is going to make a killing from the residential component of the Hudson Yards. The World Trade Center has no residential component, and it wouldnt be much of a center of world commerce if it was residential rather than commercial.

Of course. But the WTC has symbolic value. As a long time New Yorker, Silverstein should have sacrificed Profit and rebuilt at cost for NY, the US, and Israel.

Glad that so much attention is paid to the design of the public spaces here. Something developers in my city could learn from.

That landscaping rarely occurs when developers build a single tower. This multitower scheme is rare.

Why is this amazing project in the U/C tag and not the "prep" one instead?

Thanks for the info, still havent seen any ppics of the construction site/progress, but I guess it is not easily accessible.

By the way is the north tower due to start anytime soon? I am hearing that there a lot of interested tenants so is it scheduled to start soon, or are they waiting for tenants' actual confirmation?

If you looks just a few pages back it would help a lot.

Construction on the North Tower will start in 2014.

This has been raised repeatedly before, but shouldn't this thread be bifurcated just like the WTC towers have been? The South Tower would be be in the "Skyscraper" section and the the North Tower a "Super-tall" whenever it begins construction.

First, it's not in the center of midtown.
Second, be happy there are people out there who post updates.
Third, the site is hard to photograph because of the fences and stuff.
