http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=99330804 From a while back. There's a lot more progress now and as soon as I stop being lazy I'll get new pics.

According to the 10 March 2013 WSJ, Al-Jazeera is looking for a new N American HQ in NYC to house up to 700 employees. They could sign leases in any of the new developments, but I doubt that most of the Jewish developers would be willing to deal with them.

You're joking right? Al-jazeera is a very legitimate news organization not some radical Islamic mouthpiece. They are responsible for some excellent journalism and anyone who refuses to deal with them as an organization purely out of ideology is, themselves, a radical.

I completely agree with you, but most American Jews and Israelis do not and would not work with Al-Jazeera. America is completely biased toward Israel and against the Arab world. Did you follow the nomination process of America's new defense secretary? It was all about Israel.

This isn't the place for a full discussion of this topic but America's bias is strategic not ideological. Ideology is just used to mask a very cynical middle east policy.

There is nothing strategic about it. Despite common myths, America's Middle Eastern policy has not been about oil for a very long time.

Anyway, hopefully, NY developers can put their prejudice aside, and let Al-Jazeera sign a massive lease in a new tower.

I was there today. There seems to be a lot of activity, but thanks to the giant walls, theres not much to be seen.

Construction on the North Tower will start in 2014.
Thank you, I saw these pictures way back in january, but those were "prep" material work we see being done there. Still no actual "tower construction" material yet, hence my original post about the title tag.

Hopefully, developers don't pass on an opportunity for a good lease simply for ideological/ethnic reasons. I'm sure Al-Jezeer will find a place.

Without sifting through all 100+ pages of this thread can someone direct me to a masterplan map of which developers are developing which sites in HY?

Tell me, what is that plot used for? Are they going to build over the train lines, or they will also be demolished?

I'm not sure what plot you are referring to but they are building the towers on the sides on solid ground with some sort of platform over the tracks.

Brookfield next door released this.

I'm so glad this tower is now Under Construction. This is very good design and stratgegy for the way the foundations will be built around the train tracks.
