Personally I think the tower is a bad choice, that and 56 Leonard Street. I don't think they'll look as good in the rendering's.
I think it will look great with highly reflective glass.

I think "a couple holes in the sand" was a reference to Kingdom Tower.

I was just wondering what is the official name of the tower below?

Is it still planned for construction?

Ah dang. I really liked the original design. It'd be nice if it could be incorporated into the grand scheme somehow.

Interestingly, the Equinox Tower looks like completely different buildings from different angles.

From the east, it tapers to a very sharp point.

I was referring to the "construction" of the Kingdom Tower, which currently is this:

There are def. some building directly over currently existing tracks. I don´t get it, how they wanna manage to build building over railtracks.
There will be 320 caissons sunk into the yards to support the platforms and towers along with acres of columns between the tracks that will support the platforms and the towers. The towers will be constructed with state of the art framing technology as opposed to a massive reinforced concrete central core sunk deep into the ground.

Here's some BIM modeling of the framing for Coach Tower:

Thank you, desertpunk. So, the plattform will act as a transmitter to move the loads of the buildings into the cassions and colums, which will than lead the loads into the bedrock. Given the complexity of this entire complex. i consider this, one of the best CBD/infrastructural developments in the past 100 years. It´s a real brainmelt thing.

ROFLMAO, when I first read your post and wasn't exactly focused on it I read: "There will be 320 casinos sunk into the yards to support the platforms and towers". I was like WTF, do I have hallucinations now?

But seriously now, thank you for the info. It's very interesting to see how they'll solve this complicated railtrack situation

Driving in so many piles/caissons will be a nightmare among the operating rail tracks. Wonder if they can use rail mounted piling equipment?

Nice to see they increased the floor count. Let's hope that the height goes up too.

I completely agree with you, What this building needs is to be the tallest office tower in the city and all that it needs are mere 40 feet
