Gotta look at the big picture.

I just hope something more dominant is in the pipeline somewhere, because the more I see of the North tower, the less I like it.
I agree with that.

3 Big Public Projects Underway in NYC’s Chelsea and FiDi Area

The Hudson Yard's Culture Shed

Finally, the massive Hudson Yards project in the far West Side continues on full-steam ahead, and before you know it an all-new NYC neighborhood with thousands of apartments and more office space than the entire city of Baltimore (really!) will be move-in ready over there in the 30's between 10th and 11th Avenues. Since I don't plan on moving to or working in the area, most intriguing to me about all this has always been the completion of the third phase of the High Line and the potentially great Culture Shed, which will include several performance spaces as well as hosting big-time events like Fashion Week. Last week the city gave a staggering $50 million to the still-vague "arts hub", which sparked more than a little controversy, given that Dan Doctoroff, the CEO of the Mayor's Bloomberg LP, is also the Culture Shed's chairman of the board. We'll see how this plays out, but for now, the Culture Shed looks like a done deal.

Yes, the North Tower "Time Warner" will need to be built on a platform unlike the Coach Tower.

Since many wonder which towers are over tracks I made this:

If I made a mistake please point it out.

Edit: Added southern high rise residential plots to Related territory.

Hey thanks for that! Awsome, so the Corset will not be built over a platform also.

What is that building in the middle next to McDonalds?? Is that Related owned?? By the looks of your designating it is... That McDonalds needs to be purchased by Related.

I based it off this which is the newest map I believe.

Guess they own the 'little' rez towers to the south as well.

I also did not realize the Manhattan West towers would be standing closer to each other in relation to the Hudson Yards Towers.

Yeah I was gonna say the same thing. However the rest of the buildings wind up looking, I hope the lobbies are as monumental and airy as that.

Around the same time VG made this post with all the new renders there where a bunch of articles talking about the fashon crap they would host in the culture shed. Had a few nice renders I hadn't seen and more importantly a great fly through of the shed.

Phase 2 towers look pretty hefty too!

Edit Video was posted here back in may. Whoops

Plaza looks great -- but in that video, the ease with which they show the Culture Shed rolling out is a fantasy. Whenever they deploy it, they're going to either need to surround the thing with safety officers or cordon it off completely, so that some idiot doesn't get crushed.

Now that there all this momentum with the first two towers, and the E and D towers are veritable sure-things, when do we think we'll start to hear some news about Phase II? Knowing what that's going to look like will really help picture the new neighborhood as a cohesive whole.

Wow, this is powerful. Mini city within a city! The site remind me of the WTC but kinda better. It's messed up that Hudson was plan, prepared and now set to go, while in downtown, their still fighting to attract tenants this long for 1 more tower. Where is the damn love for WTC & downtown! So because Midtown has 2 major transportation hubs everybody just wants to stay & move across the street. Is ppl that lazy just to take an extra train to work, lol. 10-15 mins latest. WTC has Battery Park, all major subway lines, 2 mini hubs (New Fulton & Path), 2 water fronts, view of Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Sea port, china town, Tribeca, Stock Exchange, City Hall. The only thing is missing really is upscale shopping. So is that it, the shopping & a major connection Hub? Like that's the reason why they're building those things. At the end of the day even though I'm jealous of HY, its all in NY.

When I was there, a ton of rebar was placed at the Coach site and I want to say the D tower as well.

Looking at the pictures of the trains in the middle picture it makes me wonder, what will happen to the trains? Will they be destroyed or moved?

No way, they'll just be under ground like they should be.

This is Brookfields method. Related has a much bigger job to do but should be similar.
