Lots of change and removed track on the south side of the rail yard. Hopefully they'll start pulling the MOE building down any day now.

So the larger tower is actually getting built? When will it start?

As soon as the requisite area of the platform has been completed. Platform construction starts in Jan.

P.S.: Thank goodness that Zapatan is not on this site. The dude is nuts.

Did you really just use this site to slander someone on an entirely different site? You need to grow up.

Does anyone think that there will be a taller tower at Hudson Yards than the North Tower? Will it be possible with the given air rights around there?

There are sites that allow way bigger towers. Whether or not someone will build above 1,350 is debatable though.

Yes I believe there to be some spots within the Hudson Yards where there can be a tower taller than the North tower.

These things can take time because of the complexity of such a deal. The same goes with GroupM for Tower 3 at the WTC site. I would think we will hear official news with GroupM before Time Warner just because it is less complex.

I think this Render shows the Old and New Designs of Hudson Yards, here's a updated version.

That's a massing of phase 2 not the older design. The real phase two will be similar though I hope a bit more inspired.

Midtown Mesa is going to look quite a lot smaller in a few years.

In this photo by ILNY, one can see Related's colossal site, which is adjacent to the HY.

P.S.: For those who don't know NY, the McDonald's is behind the little red building and the little orangish one.

The outdoor observation platform will be stunning on this one. I am for one excited to try it out. This building is better than 1WTC in my eyes, which I find a rather boring building and overly conservative. I was in NYC this weekend at the memorial and I basically yawned at the sight of it and was appalled at the disconnect between the base and the tower portion. It was my first time seeing it in the flesh. Thankfully we have more exciting and inspiring designs going up in the city like this one.

How is a smorgasbord of office, retail, and residential towers with plenty of green space and a freaking school a waste of space?
