^ Woot? Equinox 1000ft tall? Please, I'm having a heart attack!

EDIT: But the same graphic shows the North Tower as 1,255'. Hmm, there's something wrong there.

I'm not surprised of any redesign this close to construction kicking off. I actually do like the new Equinox tower redesign, I never quite liked the "fatter" version. But let's not get carried away, we should wait for the latest renderings to be revealed.
As far as the North tower, it would make sense economically speaking to shorten it considering Related has a few other office towers in the pipeline, and since they're already building at a loss or at least very little profit in the short term, it's fair to assume that they would cut costs where they can; I actually think 1255 is still a decent height and I doubt we'll see much of a difference. But again let's wait for more concrete information on those updates.

EXHIBIT ALERT

Quote:
There will be an eight-day exhibit at the Time Warner Center on December 5, which will feature models, videos, renderings and construction photos of the Hudson Yards project, co-sponsored by developers the Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group.
I will be sure to check it out.

New Hudson Yards renderings revealed: PHOTOS
http://therealdeal.com/blog/2013/11/...ealed-photos/#

Architects Kohn Pederson Fox have released renderings of the first four buildings set to rise at the massive Hudson Yards project, on Manhattan’s Far West Side.

The renderings show plans for the addresses 10, 15, 30 and 35 Hudson Yards. The Hudson Yards website, HudsonYardsNewYork.com, also now indicates available space within in the 10 and 30 Hudson Yards towers, which totals 2.66 million square feet.

Is it just me or does the design of 35 HY look totally unrecognizable here?
Thanks to all for all the information. That is a narrow footprint.

"15 HY is scheduled to break ground in 14'" means part of the 15 HY foundation work will be incorporated in the Amtrak Gateway tunnel box work on the north side of the T-P HY/T-P Amtrak construction fence. Sounds like there will be a LOT of construction work in 2014 on the south side of the still-in-use portion of the East Rail Yard. AFAIK work will include blasting in the bedrock once the excavation gets that deep.

Is any of this information available in a higher resolution format?

First the North Tower was 1,292ft, then the building got a height increase - 1,337ft. Now, according to the diagram above the height is pushed back to 1,255ft.

If this diagram indeed turns out to be the real deal, then there's at least some good news: the Equinox Tower would be 1,000ft (instead of 950ft)!

On the official website, 30 Hudson Yards is still 1,337 feet tall.
Honestly, I think (again, I think), that the heights of both projects remain the same.

Related Co. released that graph today on their official facebook page on the same day they officially revealed renderings to the press. Sometimes updating content on website are not up to speed the way FB and Twitter can update (in my company we do it all the time).

I definitely think this is the latest info, because they had revealed new official name change of their 2 other projects 1 Hudson Blvd & 2 Hudson Blvd to 55 & 50 Hudson Yards that was not known until today. I expect new content to be updated on website within the coming days.

It looks great.... just kinda confused going by addresses rather than specific building addresses... The Empire State Building isn't called by its address...few buildings are. Do they have specific names for these towers, because all these numerical Hudson Yards addresses make it seem kinda cold and clinical. I like the "Equinox" or "Culture Tower" or "Girasole" , "Coach Tower"....makes it more intimate, personal and iconic. Nice to have specific addresses but goodness knows most people will use another term or name for reference.

Vertical, I'm thinking this update of the building designs and addresses has the actual figures on the intended heights.... hopefully we'll all know in the next few days what's really going on.

I think that 1,255 Ft figure might be accurate looks alot shorter in the new renderings.

In NYC, most buildings *do* go by their address. There are some that do not, but they are the exception, not the rule.

More importantly, I think Related is trying to create a sense of destination built around Hudson Yards. If each building had its own name, no one would know where it was, and it would not tap into or enhance the cachet of Hudson Yards.

I don't know why these were labeled "new renderings," when they've been around for months.

this is the current design. The render above was from before the designs for Towers E and D were revealed.
