MAYBE Related will actually "break ground" @ the SW corner of W 33rd St & 10th Ave in Hudson Yards...

Flickr's hardcoreshutterbug has posted overhead views (taken from the Ohm building) of the Hudson yards development dated 12/2/2013.

I've snipped out a "North Tower" relevant section & posted it below. It shows two construction trailers and a storage container in that corner along with some construction cones surrounding a cut in the concrete?
Maybe they will start relocating the underground utilities (POWER cables, etc.) that underlie this area in prep for construction of the North Tower foundation caissons next year...

Just for the heck of it, I included as much of the #7 subway station entrance/Hudson Blvd park as hardcore shutterbug captured in his photo:

Snip from original photo by hardcoreshutterbug http://www.flickr.com/photos/hardcor...n/photostream/

Note: I think hardcoreshutterbug took his 12-2 photos earlier in the day than did j-biz, because the timber matting is not in place in the tunnel box excavation.

I liked the previous design of 35 HY more, Still good though.
And 30 HY really had to be the ultimate landmark her, now it just pokes above 35 HY.

It looks like a building on the McDonalds' site is depicted. I can't wait to see this on Thursday.

30 HY does look a bit stubbier. 35 looks really tall, maybe more than 1000ft.

I thought I was seeing things but it is true.

The position is right since it was supposed to be jammed to the east. It could be a photoshop mistake though.

I think that render is a bad depiction, but we know for sure now there is another supertall in the first phase

It seems to be the same height as the north tower, and it seems to have a slanted roof.

Something is off with this image. The Ohm (white tower) in the foreground is only ~315 ft. The Coach Tower which is located directly behind the Ohm is shown only about 2X the height, when in fact its about 3X its height. Also One Penn Plaza in the background is about 751 feet, but almost appears taller than the Coach Tower. I think there are some photoshop mistakes.

Regardless, the North Tower does look stumpier and its a shame they are considering chopping 100 feet of its crown. Its too bad tall office towers don't seem to make economic sense in NYC anymore.

It is.

Interesting fact: The Conde Nast antenna was added in 2003 to replace the one lost at the WTC on 9/11. That's why you don't see it in that photo.

You are right. I thought the esb looked too big.

ESB is basically aligned with 30 and 35 so this should work. The line is about 300m. The render is dodgy.

I hope that render isnt accurate. The north tower in that picture looks aweful. The proportions are terrible and the observation deck clutters the top way too much. It seems like almost every proposal in this city is dumbed down nowadays.

First I'll say that red line doesn't appear parallel with the South fašade of ESB, Secondly, I believe the setback you are using is 958 feet up.

As I stated above, the E Tower was redesigned, and it is now a supertall more than likely.

It is above the set back and the exact height doesn't matter. Unless I am wildly bad at drawing a parallel line the render is too small.
