True, so yeah, that's right at 1,000 feet then. Did you make it slightly higher to account for HY being south of ESB?

The former 1 Hudson Blvd appears to have rounded corners, and the facade appears to undulate at the top.

Seems like they are trying to make the buildings fit together better. D and E both go from rectangles to circles and 1 hudsons rounded rectangle fits in with that.

That's what I was thinking. The buildings on the east side of the site (Coach, TW, and McD have linear edges, and the ones on the West have rounded facades).

The height decrease in this case is a problem. There needs to be a signature tower which will stand out. The South Tower is already pretty stubby.

Keep in mind this is the worst angle for making the North tower blend in. It should still stand out.

The north tower really doesnt stand out much anymore, no matter which way you look at it. I wonder if it was shortened because the developer had some irrational fear of terrorists. Im really tired of seeing proposals in New York getting dumbed down so often.

Assuming this all gets built, this is going to be so much nicer than the WTC.

Even if it is 1,250 feet, how does that not stand out. They'd be creaming over this in any other US city.

Did I ever mention numbers? I dont care about the number of feet of this building, buy rather the proportions being off. Dont be so sensitive.

I don't like it, hope that last rendering isn't accurate. I think 30 Hudson Yards (North) should be really prominent. Unfortunately, if the rendering is accurate, seems like the residential portion makes more economic sense.

Exactly! 1,250 is no slouch for an American city, plus we are getting an additional supertall with Equinox tower in the process. Not a bad exchange for 80 ft in decreased height.

Also... Right across the street from 30 Hudson (North Tower) Related will be building another supertall at 50 Hudson Yards (McD's site) that could potentially be as tall or taller than 30 Hudson. This may be another reason for the decrease of the North tower. 30 Hudson and 50 Hudson are both all commercial offices by Related that would be offering the same kind of spaces.

Don't cry just yet. I honestly think the latest renderings is not that good of a job. Tomorrow the exhibition starts for the HY project, so I will be sure to take lots a photos so we all can see what to expect for all the towers.

Officially, it's called 15 Hudson Yards. It's also been known as Tower D, the "Corset," and the Culture Tower.

Here's the thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1656020

I thought it’s worth mentioning.

North Tower (30 Hudson) to have underground connection to #7 subway station:
http://www.globest.com/news/12_746/n...ed-340320.html

Quote:
Construction on 30 Hudson Yards, the office tower located on the south side of 33rd street and 10th avenue, will begin in early 2014.

It will feature a direct underground connection to the new number seven subway station

—providing door-to-door service for commuters—and what will be New York’s highest outdoor observation deck. The base of the tower also provides extra-large floors making the tower well-suited to large format uses like trading, news and entertainment studios.
