If you're talking about ThatOneGuy's comment on the last page, he means the big redesign from a couple years ago where they changed the orientation of the crown roofs (used to slope away from one another, then were reversed to slope towards one another), before the addition of the observation deck. Aside from the height fluctuation, there hasn't been a significant redesign since then.

Yes, movie architects are just horrible at designing buildings.

Thanks for posting themodulorman photo.

It looks like they still haven't "bridged" (maybe one beam?) across the northernmost tracks. As far as I can tell, they have backfilled the excavation for the Amtrak Gateway project tunnel casing.
I assume they are rebuilding the LIRR's MoW building under the retail podium overbuild platform, so that Amtrak can stop paying X millions per month to the LIRR.

Winter is coming...

11.16.14

Platform construction progress.

More "heavy duty" columns were added.

Tunnel is completely covered now. East worker entry has been closed, entry ramp removed and new columns/spans erected.

Even without the towers planned, this construction site is already very impressive.

Holy crap! The tunnel box... it's gone! Kinda strange that the whole thing stopped at 11th ave. When they develop the West Rail Yard, will they have to build another tunnel box on that side? Maybe it's already deep enough to not interfere with building foundations and they'll just use a TBM.

Anyway, that steel is really impressive.

I love the technical terms!
Yep - tunnel box casing is backfilled and has steel going up on both ends. AS far as i can tell, the LIRR worker bridge and the ramp down from 10th Ave are also gone. The second floor of the LIRR substation/control tower looks intact in the NE corner of the 30 HY site - I'm assuming they will only demo the 2nd floor when they build a replacement switch control room.

The HYNY FB photo below show a view looking east from the platform steel at the 11th Ave end, looking ~down the 31st canyon. I think the photographer was standing where Hudson Blvd will enter the platform from 11th Ave and then curve around north.

Hi everyone!

My english is not good, sorry...

I have a question for you (i don't know much about NY infrastructure, neither about this amazing project - Hudson Yards);

- It seems that there's a train station (or something like that) exactly on Hudson Yards site. It's gonna be deactivated? Or it will be preserved?

If they preserve it, the train service will keep working? How do they gonna build the foundations in that case?

Its not the first time they do that. They did that years ago in Brussels too. Google the Brussels north-south connection.
