It's nice to have a wide imposing supertall though instead of another super skinny one. Gives balance and adds variety.

Sometimes I'm confused which steel belongs to what building when it comes to the Hudson Yards site given the size but I take it that's the vertical beginning of 30HY in that picture? If so that's incredibly exciting. This one is going to be a huge addition!

I think that's the retail portion which sits between Coach and Time Warner.

It'll probably start peaking up around late September.

Although I like that there is a lot of development in NYC for the next decade or so, I personally think that the design of towers like these or the Nordstrom Tower and Vanderbilt Plaza is not really could be better. In comparison to these, I think the Steinway Tower design is really beautiful - smooth and elegant.

I think the term should be "above street level".
AND West 33rd street level will change in the next few years when they raise it match the still-abuilding overbuild platform which will match the current elevation of the still unopened Hudson Park & Boulevard.

The Yahoo Finance video linked below has Jay Cross stating the obvious: 30 HY and the other corner building won't finish till spring 2019 (if they are lucky:

Article here:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/larges...162054332.html

And here's a screen cap from that video, right around when Jay Cross states they've finished fully financing the overbuild platform and now they're working on finishing the financing for the "retail component".

Looking NE from the High Line at Rail yards ~11th Ave Note that they can now drive directly from the 11th Ave viaduct onto the overbuild platform, hence the tractors and trailers at photo bottom center:

True! lol. I didn't notice they included Park Lane in that rendering. They have it short! It will be way taller that is for sure.

Not only that, they've also forgotten the new WTC buildings. This render is half lacking.

Question here.... with Time Warner in the process of merging with Charter Communications(new company apparently being called Spectrum Communications or something in that vein)is anything changing regarding commitments to moving from the Columbus Circle towers headquarters to this one?

no, I don't think so. Time Warner Cable has been spun off into a separate entity approximately5 years ago from Time Warner inc which has many companies still under its umbrella.

There was a discussion similar to this in the Salesforce tower thread when Salesforce was going to be bought by Microsoft, then conclusion of those conversations was that short of an meteorite strike or a Kaiju Attack leveling the city in which the which the tower was being built or the end of the world it was pretty much impossible to get out of one of these deals.
