No kidding, I can't wait until we can see the 30 HY steel rising alongside 10 HY from that vantage point. People are going to go, "Wait that one's going to be even bigger??"

Question though: did anyone else expect Northwestern sloping side of 10 HY to be a little slope-ier? In the above photo it almost looks like a regular box.

The Hudson yards is the most hyped up development project in the city - the country even. It should surprise less people than say a 1397 foot building appearing on Park Avenue Only the WTC is more high profile.

Not really if I hadn't of passed it in Manhattan or followed these forums I wouldn't of heard of it. This will definitely have heads turning though once it's all rising full speed.

it frequently makes the news. Even if sometimes its about neighbors complaining about the construction noise

While I'm sure a lot of people don't know about it Hudson Yards has had quite a bit of exposure compared to other projects around the world. I have seen articles on Yahoo! and Digg multiple times. I think it has come up mostly because of the engineering feat of building these skyscrapers over a rail yard but regardless there have been plenty high exposure articles written about it.

Trust me, your average New Yorker has no idea these buildings are going up.

Yes but when you compare this project to all other projects going up in New York and even the world I would say this has probably had the most coverage (at least in the US) besides the World Trade Center. Obviously most people just don't care that much about skyscraper and urban development so they won't know regardless.
