Yes. It won't be nearly as slow as 10 HY, which was strictly a concrete structure.

When I took these today, I thought they showed the beginnings of 30 Hudson; having looked again at the website's "master plan", now I'm not so sure. Anybody know?

Interesting they are using a TG mast for that white crane. Looks like a Favco.

all true.

TG towers fit with the internal climber they are using.

I take it its one of the Favco's from the PATH station. They were for sale. They look like the new style Favco tower sections to me. Same sections they used at the PATH station. But i'm a long way away so no doubt I could be wrong.

The "new style" Favco sections don't have the same faces on all sides. So no, this crane was never at the WTC.

Well those sections look different on each side.. The Path cranes were the same colour, although the cab on this one is on a different side, but they are able to swapped.

As a side question.. are the TG Link Belt Towers Cranes banned in NYC?.. If that is the case how can they still use tower sections?

Thanks in advance..

I think that what this project miss is the famous hudson spire
I think they must build and off course with 2000 ft height to make it the signature tower of hudson yards
please go beyond of limit of federation of aviation administration

What will become of the three blocks just south of the western yards? They appear to just be massive parking lots and maybe a warehouse... they are very large plots and may be able to sustain a few high rises each. In a few years from now if they stay as is they will be very out of place.

The Read Deal had a great article about this issue last year.

Several developers are pouncing on those properties, particularly the block immediately south of the High Line (between 29th and 30th.) The sites are strictly limited based on their current zoning, but there's a lot of hope and speculation that the city will up-zone the area to allow new construction commensurate with the rest of the Hudson Yards.

There's a lot of opposition to new highrises in Chelsea, which in general tries to preserve its historic lowrise character. I wouldn't expect those blocks to sprout anything quite as tall as the core HY buildings, but I believe we'll see several highrises and even some skyscrapers there -- which would certainly aid in connecting the HY supertalls to their surroundings.

Thanks!

Off Topic:
I found this article while looking for any news on 360 10th, it's a year old but still a good read and a very good idea imo. It's about moving javits center to sunny side queens.
http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/...icle-1.2036405

I hope something like this can happen, it would allow for a great deal of development in both locations!

I think it is indeed the bottom of the tower. For the size of the columns and the position of it, it seems like it is the tower.

Via Curbed, a new render of the observation deck (sorry for the funky resolution, it seemed like the options are either "too small for details" or "too big for clarity.")

I'm still not the biggest fan of the way it just juts out into space instead of being better integrated into the rest of the tower. But I'm sure when you're up there it will be absolutely thrilling. (If I'm not mistaken, that looks like the "glass floor" near the tip of the platform, although I don't see any corresponding glass below, so I wonder if it's just a high-res display like they have at One World Observatory)
