Work on the tower continues.

This looks like mall atrium.

South East part of the Mall.

That must be hell of a job to weld all these thousands of steel columns together, paint them and install hundreds of miles of cables and pipes.

Welders, you can also see already painted column.

Secondary support beams.

More beams, notice already painted columns (top left)

Piping.

That's assuming they work 40 hour weeks and work most of the year...It may very well vary depending upon the production schedule of whatever they're working on.

I wonder what they will call the Time Warner Center when it's no longer being occupied by Time Warner.

People in video production work much more than the standard 40-hour week... more like 60+.

Is that 60+ hours in office. Because that's not even healthy.

I didn't mean to necessarily imply they were working fewer...Although, on average, they very well could be (e.g. if there are periods where they are working significantly fewer hours vs periods where they are working significantly more...their yearly average could be lower than 40 hr/week).

The programming that HBO produces is not in production all year round, and not every producer works on every show.

Anyways, I was just pointing out that it may not actually be a $180k salary. Could be less, could be more.

Does anyone know the correct name for "laminated" steel columns. Like this one?

Wait, what's this buildings final height? YIMBY reported a few weeks ago that it was 1297ft, but this forum says 1268ft. Also didn't it have a height reduction at some point?

Then that wall with all the bracing must be the "core".

The lower figure is based on this:

Yes, there have been a number of height changes to the tower. At one point, it was indicated at about 1330'.

The Hudson Yards site still says 1296':

http://www.hudsonyardsnewyork.com/of...0-hudson-yards

That link above mentions the KKR deal, which wasn't officially announced until October 29, so who knows if the website editors were just lazy about editing the height, or if that 1296' figure represents current plans.

laminated columns. or built up columns. although, built up usually means a box or a shape made from plate.
