After 111 West 57th Street.. this is the project in NY I'm more anxious about. Even though not as high as the bronze spot holder Nordstrom tower.. their designs are really great!
30 HY is gonna take out the west view to the ES no? If so.. that's the only negative thing I can point out.

Depending on where on the NJ coast you are standing, this will really fill your field of view. This is a massive tower and since it's sitting a mile closer to the Hudson, will appear even larger due depending on one's perspective.

So far, we've seen a lot of spectacular steelworks.
Does anybody know when the main tower goes vertical?

I believe the tower is already going vertical. I think they're simultaneously working on the retail portion that will sit in between 30 HY and 10 HY.
So while 30 Hudson Yards is rising, the retail portion is rising at the same time giving it the appearance of one massive steel structure rather than 2 separate buildings.

The only part of Moscow that looks anything like this is Moscow City, most of which is barely a decade old. Before that, the tallest buildings in Moscow were all Stalinist in style (and quite impressive at that).

Kudrinskaya Square Building

Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw (not in Moscow, but a great example of the style)

Was this tower reduced in height at all? I thought it was supposed to be 400+ meters.

A noticeable drop. I think it looks stubby. it lost its slenderness.

As massive as this building's steel is ... I still think potential airline hijackers are making note of this building's lack of a concrete core.

it already is, its just very slow construction due to the size of the pieces, very large and very small at the same time, the number of welds to be completed, the number of bolts to install etc.

Once they get past 10th floor it will probably increase speed.

It's like the Time Warner Center for example, up until 50 meters it was just one big podium.

it was never 'slender' in the first place.

That was a one time thing. Next hijacked plane near a major city would get shot down.
