You will be able to see all of Hudson Yards, the angle will show Manhattan West clearly, ESB, and you should be to see the central park skinnies too, the upper 1/3 or 1/4 of 1 Vandy should be visible. Not sure on Chrysler, you may need some elevation to be able to see any of it.

edit- this link shows kinda where I am talking about

Maybe looking 15 more degree to the left or so.
So basically the view the people will have who are going to live in the new skyscrapers in Jersey City.

Elevators

Can someone please explain where in this tower the elevators will be located and how they will be protected without a concrete core?

As you can see 30 Hudson yards doesn't have room underneath it for a conventional core.

I can't speak to how they elevators will be protected, except to speculate that they will be fireproofed, but here's a floorplan from the Related site to help you visualize the "core:"

Structurally speaking, a concrete core is not necessarily required. The core (whether it's made of concrete shear walls or braced frames) is primarily designed to ensure the lateral stability of the structure - not "protect" the elevator (but since the core is vertical from the foundation to the top of the building, it is the perfect place to locate the elevators banks).

In this case, braced frames are used instead of concrete walls. The members are very "beefy" (thick flanges and web) so they would naturally have a good fire resistance + they will be fireproofed with intumescent paint or other means.

The tower should grow over the podium very soon.

I think the reason people care so much about the lack of a concrete core in this beautiful building is what happened on 9/11.

well, it does help that it will have a wall of skyscrapers around it when the project is done, I want to say only the top 25% or so will be exposed from the river side.
