Though I'm unable to accompany my wife to NYC this week, she's mega-cool to me, walking around and taking pics of my fave construction sites.

That was an actual problem with Gehry's Disney Concert Hall in LA-it started melting cars so they had to grind and un-polish the surface.

No, that is not correct. There was reflection off the stainless steel panels in a small portion of the third floor garden that reflected sun into the condominiums across the street, raising the temperature inside the condos. In order to be a good neighbor, they lightly sanded a very small area (you have to know where to look in the garden) to minimize any reflection.

I know there was some building that was melting cars. Maybe it was in London?

Hudson Yards Continues Transformation of Far West Side

Quote:
Manhattan's Far West Side is a maze of steel, glass, and cranes, as the massive Hudson Yards project continues to reshape the neighbourhood. For America's biggest private real estate project in history, The Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group are building over 17 million square feet of commercial and residential space, 14 acres of public space, and a new arts complex dubbed the Culture Shed.

I don't think the architects of Hudson Boulevard designed it for waiting Megabus passengers but it is nice to see it used.

They need to be in the Port Authority Bus Terminal and not clogging streets.

True, but PABT is already overflowing, and all expansion plans have serious flaws. Something drastic has to be done.

Dude. What Propaganda classes did you take at the city college? ...Or are you a just shill who seriously has no life other than to forge a fake interest in architecture, create an account, and spread government-sponsored lies on a forum that is made for people like myself, who are actually interested/passionate about architecture. Go away please.
