9 towers U/C (10, 15, 30, 35, 55 HY, 1, 3 MW, 319 10th Ave, 520 W 30th), 2 Prep (3 HB, 2 MW), 1 unknown (50 HY), plus 5 MW would be considered a tower in almost every German city (same could be said for the two 319 10th Ave side towers.)

3 HB is u/c unless we dont count the foundation as u/c. The prep work as is done (MTA was working on site for a while). The work they are doing now is part of the towers structure.

50 HY is soon to be in DEMO phase, in fact it may just be starting demo as some posters on YIMBY noticed so construction netting going up on Coach's old building. I think demo should go quick as this site does not have as many logistical constraints as others (they have plenty of empty space around the old building to stage equipment and put removed materials awaiting transport).

so, they had removed one of the freestanding tower cranes, the middle crane on the east side. now it is back and it has a climbing cage on it. i wonder what happened there.

So would anyone say that 30 HY is climbing faster than 10 HY? To me this one is climbing very very quickly.

30 is definitely progressing at a quicker clip because a steel structure is easier to assemble than a concrete structure.

Indeed, the "is it taller than the mall yet?" questions seem like almost yesterday.

I believe that they are entering the part of the tower that is more "regular", which should speed up the progress

I like this quick construction process. This tower will be very tall soon.

10 HY really turned out so nicely. I think the pair will look fantastic together. It's almost too bad that the view in potipoti's photo will be obscured by other towers.

1 MW won't even exist from that angle.

its going faster now because they are out of the podium. framing is becoming lighter and more typical/repetitive.

There is a steel core that will start at the skylobby which is a few floors up from where we are now.

it has a side core up to the skylobby terrace at which point it will shift to a center core. I watch a video on this, the reason they had to do this is because of the structural challenges of building over the "throat" of the rail yard. It ended up work well for them because the side core and huge open floor plans was a huge selling point to Time Warner to place their studios.
